Wow.
Today I flew into Burlington Airport and was greeted by my dad and my dog, along with the roling green mountains of Vermont. I'm finally home. To back up a bit, we left Laramate 2 weeks ago today, stopping in Ica to share with Pastor Wilfredo and his wife, in Paracus to visit some penguins, then I went up to the jungle to commune with nature for a bit. We debriefed in Chosica and had a wonderful time sharing testimonies and stories, and preparing to leave our friends and return to the USA. We then spent a few days enjoying ourselves, going up to Cusco and visiting Macchu Picchu. It was a treat because we have a connection with a group of Peruvian Christian travel agents about our age who organized absolutely every detail of our trip for us. They also run an outreach organization called Zona Segura that reaches out to young adults in Cusco, sharing the Gospel. I wanted to stay in Cusco to help them with their ministry! Cusco is gorgeous, and Macchu Picchu was incredible. I thank God for the opportunities I've had this summer, and our trip was a great end to an incredible summer.
The trip did not end there for me, however. I met Pastor Waylen Bray, his wife Cherlyn, and Mike McQuitty in Atlanta for the REAP South conference. It was incredible, and really gave us a better perspective on what our strategy should be from this point on. We are so excited to see how God will direct our paths in the future, and as I gear up for my final year of grad school, I am so excited to see where God will lead me, and if that leading includes full-time mission work. I hope that I can be attentive to His call, wherever that may be.
We should be posting pictures soon. Thank you so much for reading our blog-for sharing this trip with us. Your prayers, thoughts, and attention mean so much to us, and I love you all and am so blessed to call you friends.
Que Dios les bendiga.
Liz
