In All Things, To God Be The Glory

Hey everyone,

I believe Liz has already posted the news about Greg. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers. His mom, is obviously taking this very hard. Their family has decided to use the insurance money from the IMB, however, to start a scholarship fund for future missions in Peru. Also please keep the REAP South staff in your prayers, this week is going to be very difficult for everyone involved.

Additionally, there is a nationwide strike in Peru starting on July 9th. This means that all teams are suppose to stay in their villages and not travel, and even some teams had to get pulled from some areas. It is expected to be violent in some areas, but who knows. Where we are, there isn´t going to be striking or anything so we will be fine if we just stay in the village. Because of this however, our Syracuse team has to rush here today, so please pray for their safety. Also, the Creative Ministry team will be staying in their current village and unable to come to Laramate on the 9th as was originally planned. Just please pray for safety of everyone throughout Peru and for wisdom regarding traveling and such. God is in control, so it´s all good.

Finally, as Liz pointed out, we have two new brothers in Christ, Alex and Adrien. God is so good. Tomorrow morning we are having a Bible study at 10 am. So far Lourdes, Adrien, and Martin are suppose to be coming. Please pray that they are all able and do come tomorrow. This is a great opportunity to start a lasting group between the believers here in Laramate. Additionally, Edwin, a student at the Institute is suppose to come. We do not know whether or not he is a Christian, so please keep him in your prayers.

That is all of the updates for now.

- Matt

Matt, Trevor, Liz & Emmy....been thinking and praying for God to support you and keep you strong in your faith more than ever with the hard times you've endured over the past couple of days. This type of hurt is probably one of the worse we all face at one time or another. Trevor learned at a very early age in his life how difficult the unexpected death of someone dear to you hurts so very deep. Martin sounds real special you guys. I just picture this guy as a straw hat type of guy with sandals. Am I close in describing him? I think this gentleman will truly miss you guys when you leave. But the faith he is sharing with you will be remembered eternally I'm sure.
